Well, my name is Jennie Johns and I have been teaching web development for over 20 years. I earned a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems, worked on a team for a finance company building in-house enterprise applications as a Business Application Developer, became a freelance website developer and a Business Advisor for the Illinois Small Business Development Center, and completed a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction (fancy-pants way of saying UX Design).

Some of My Interests
I’m a huge fan of food. I love trying new dishes and have even conquered my dislike of green peppers recently. But not raw celery. That stuff is just grassy-tasting water with built-in dental floss. I enjoy baking, cooking, and especially eating takeout foods. Each December, I make a large batch of desserts for family. Please enjoy these pictures of meringue cookies, biscotti, cake pops, and dipped pretzels.

I also like to marathon-watch TV shows while playing casual games on Steam or my phone. Lately, I’ve been rewatching Psych, Eureka, and Warehouse 13 because they are mostly light-hearted and make me laugh each time. The cast of each show has great chemistry, which draws me into their world and makes me want to keep watching episodes. I’ll watch other shows, but these three are my go-to.
